Ace Boston-based Tex[t]-Mex Galleryblog detective (and sugary treats sampler) Daphne Strassmann writes in with a tip to a Guanabee post that muses (a wee-bit snarkily) about Bimbo breads of Mexico's odd little confection. Hit the product for the linkaso.
Here's a recent blog-based meditation on the same from theRoot.
What is the big deal? I remember little black Sambo in commercials all the time and it was cute. No one ever considered it racial. I am not racist and have nothing against little black Sambo, Aunt Jemima etc. anymore than I get offended by Maxine's portrael of old people. When things are cute, they are cute. Why do people look for things to be offended?
