Just a quick pointer to a blogpost at LaBloga. As important as it is to map the stereotyped legacy of Mexicans and "Mexicans" in American mass culture, it is even more important, as Genaro Padilla argues, to map the various and sundry traces our writers and artists have left on our American heritage. Michael Sedano's piece does just that, and true to the spirit of our class projects, e493 y e725, does so with one foot in the semantic, and the other firmly planted in the semiotic.
