Latina/o Hollywood: CEDAR RAPIDS starring Ed Helms, Anne Heche, John C. Reilly

Who would have Latina/o cinema is running around under our noses at the local multi-plex; I just checked out Miguel Arteta's Cedar Rapids this weekend and gave it a B-, meaning it didn't wow me but it also didn't waste my time. Roger Ebert seems to like it, though J. Hoberman, in the Village Voice, is less amused.

Yet Another Chapter in the History of Bizarre Caucasians: Phyllis Evans Special Collection Edition

Phyllis Evans, an amazing artist working at South Texas College recently posted a snapshot from her travels that includes a figure from the Museum of Communism, Prague, and that deserves a place of honor in the Tex[t]-Mex Galleryblog bestiary of peculiar Caucasian representations; here it is:
