May 7 SATURDAY

12 noon- 12: 45 pm: HEY KIDS, COMICS!. With Rhode Montijo, Anthony
Oropeza and Carlos Saldaña. Moderated by Hector Cantu. A discussion on
writing and creating for kids/all ages audiences.

1:00 pm-1:45 pm: Your Brain on Latino Comics with Prof. Frederick Aldama
... Doc Aldama talks about the historical as well as contemporary scene of Latino
comic creators, drawing from his book, YOUR BRAIN ON LATINO COMICS.

2:00 pm - 2:25 pm: LUNATIC FRINGE Motion Comic debut. Cartoonist
Grasiela Rodriguez debuts the 'motion comic' version of her book,
LUNATIC FRINGE.

3:00 pm - 3:45 pm: HECTOR CANTU on creating BALDO. Hector Cantu, the
writer and co-creator of BALDO, talks about growing up among Raza Unida
leaders in 1970s South Texas and how that led to the Baldo comic strip.

May 8 SUNDAY

12 noon- 12: 45 pm: FUNNY BOOKS. With Michael Aushenker, Jose Cabrera
and Carlos Saldaña. A talk about writing and drawing humorous comics.

1:15 pm-2:00 pm: A READING AND Q&A with MARIO HERNANDEZ. Mario
Hernandez, the instigator of the critically acclaimed LOVE & ROCKETS
comic book series with brothers Jaime and Gilbert, performs a reading
from one of his stories.

2:30 pm - 3:30 pm: SELF-PUBLISHING YOUR COMIC BOOKS. With Jaime Crespo,
Rafael Navarro, Javier Hernandez, Mario T. Lanao and Cristian Garcia. A
discussion about the do's and dont's of self-publishing comic books and
how to prepare for the long haul.
